On Sunday, February 19th, TJ entered the heavenly gates to be with his Lord and Savior.
TJ was born on January 14, 1938 in Winter Haven, Florida, the oldest son of 6 children born to Thomas Jordan O'Kelley, Sr and Lois O'Kelley Smith, who preceded him in death along with siblings Geneva Self and Johnny O'Kelley. He moved to Chumuckla in 1954 where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Borders O'KelIey. They were married for over 60 years - where you saw one, you always saw the other.
He was a father to two children: Kimberly (Drew) Myers of Cartersville, Georgia and Ricky (Rhonda) O'Kelley of Allentown, Florida; grandfather to Heather (Jesse) MacDougall of Naples, Florida and Jenna (Lance) Cook of Allentown, Florida.
He was also great-grandfather to four beautiful little girls who idolized their Paw-Paw: Matilda & Maeve MacDougall and Hallie & Piper Cook.
He was a brother to Shirley Smith – Ridgeville, South Carolina, Gordon 0’Kelley – Bigelow, Arkansas and Gene O'Kelley – Chattanooga, Tennessee.
TJ worked for over 41 years for St. Regis as an Assistant Forester before taking medical retirement. He also spent many years farming in Chumuckla after work and on weekends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral begins at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Cornerstone Christian Church, Jay.
