John Elbert Fulford, Jr.
1924 – 2017
John Elbert Fulford, Jr., 93, of Pensacola passed away August 13, 2017. He was born on February 14, 1924 in Mobile, AL.
He spent his formative years in Mobile, AL; where he enlisted in the U. S. Navy the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed. John worked as an Air Crewmen, Flight Engineer, Hurricane Hunter, athlete and coach for Navy teams and had many more titles during the 28 years he served.
After his retirement, John went on to found Perdido Heating and Air. He was affiliated and very involved with community service groups, such as, Masonic Lodge 24, Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon Pensacola, Fleet Reserve, American Legion and many others.
He loved his church, country and family.
John is survived by his children, John (Chris) Fulford, III, Michele (Ken) Cameron and Cynthia Fulford; brother, Aubrey Fulford (his Irish twin); Roger (Tanja) DeValcourt, who was like a son to John; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 10650 Gulf Beach Highway, Pensacola, FL with Father Tom Collins as officiant.
