Deacon Cason Lewis, 62, was born in Milton, FL on April 13,1955, to Raif Velve and Ethel Louise Lewis.
Cason confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, where he served faithfully his entire life. He served in several capacities of the church, including a member of the Deacon Board, Drummer and Co-Chairman of the Male Choir. He found joy singing in the Mt. Zion Male Choir and the Milton Community Choir.
On December 31, 1977 Cason was united in Holy Matrimony to Margaret Archie Lewis. This union was blessed with two devoted and loving daughters.
Cason was educated in the Santa Rosa School System. He was employed with Big Lots, R.C. Cola, Double Cola, Lewis Funeral Home, Kmart, Delchamps, Liberty National Life
Insurance and as a Sports Commentator.
On Friday, September 15, 2017, God dispatched an angel to Deacon Cason Lewis’ bedside and spoke softly to him: “Come unto me and I will give you rest”. He joyously accepted the call and made his heavenly transition.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father: Deacon Raif Velve and Mother Ethel Louise Lewis; Mother- and Father-in-Law, Mother Lois and Deacon Charles Archie; Brother, Deacon Fred Lewis; Sisters-in-Law: Deaconess Mamie “Geneva” Lewis, Mother Paulette Lewis, and Sister Janice Archie; Brothers-in-Law: Brother Joel Harris, Brother Marion Archie, and Brother Michael Archie.
Deacon Lewis leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Deaconess Margaret Archie Lewis; two devoted daughters, Calandra (fiancé Dushaun McMillian) Archie and Cassandra (Christopher) Hamilton; two sisters, Mother Lillie (Wallace) Jones and Mother Georgia Harris; brother, Deacon R.L. Lewis; aunts, Lucille Savage and Sister Rita King; Uncle Howard Wilson; Sisters-in-Law: Deaconess Christine Lewis, Sister Charlene Archie and Stephanie Archie; Brother-in-Law, Brother Charles Archie Jr; Grandson, Isaiah Hamilton; God Daughter, Beatrice Springer; God Sons: Zyon Dickerson, Brother Christopher Duckworth and Brother Brandon McCloud; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; and Special friends: Second Mother Sister Janet Gooden, Reverend Victor Gooden, Brother Clayton Harp, Brother Donald Williams, Brother Keith Collins, Brother Michael Cash, Brother Carl McCray, Brother Larry Brewton, Brother Alfred Brewton, Brother Dwayne Brewton, Brother Frederick Brewton, Brother Frank Waller, Deacon Antonio Jackson, Brother Bernard Samuel, Brother Lonnie Galloway, Brother Douglas Brooks, Brother Ed Whigum, Mother Margie Galloway, Sister Sierra Samuel, Brother Marcel Tucker and the Siler, Lewis, Hannah, Archie, Walker and Gilmore Families.
