Obituary for Wanda June Perritt

Wanda June Perritt
Wanda “Nanny” June Perritt went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 24, 2017. She was born June 18, 1933 in Red Level, Alabama to John Oliver Morris and Vera May Nichols. She grew up on a farm in Chumuckla and graduated from Chumuckla High School just up the road. She retired from American Cyanamid and went on to work for Challenger Deepwell Services in Jay until full retirement. Her grand and great grand-children were her pride and joy. The family fondly recalls the special attention she gave all her grand-children and delicious jelly she made for them. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bragging about her grand-kids, watching game shows, and making trips to Atmore for ice cream. She is remembered as a devote Christian that never let her faith falter in the face of adversity and was a proud member of Brownsdale Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Oliver Morris and Vera May Nichols-Morris, her daughter, Rhonda Alene Perritt, her brothers, Clettus Morris Sr. and John Morris, and her sister, Claudia Lunsford.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Raney, her son, Hiram (Jennifer) Perritt, her beloved grand-children, Ronja (Randy) Ashworth, Deno Dustin Rolin, Jack Jerome Odom, Jr., Jerenda (Richard) Hunt, and Jonathan (Stephani) Perritt. She also leaves behind her great-grand-children, Emily Ashworth (Alan Mitchem), Ally Ashworth, Austin Ashworth, Jmac Odom, Jarred Hunt, Jaci Perritt and Jaxon Perritt. Lastly, she leaves to cherish her memory, a life -long friend, Dot Germann and many other close family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bill Richardson, Clettus Morris, Jr., Ronnie Odom, Jonathan Perritt, Jarred Hunt, and Richard Hunt.

A visitation will be held at Trahan Family Funeral home of Milton on Thursday September 28, 2017 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Services will be held at Brownsdale Baptist Church on Friday September 29, 2017 at 12:00pm with an interment to follow at Concord Cemetery.
