William Allen Nelson, 85, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017. He was born on November 21, 1931 in Pensacola, FL. He was a Korean War Veteran and was a softball player for NARF/ NADEP for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elozy Nelson; two brothers, Henry, Jr., Donald Nelson; and his beloved wife of 57 years, Lucille Nelson.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Kim) Nelson, Bruce (Rose) Nelson; 7 grandchildren, Amanda (Stanley), Jacob, Scott, Kristan, Theresa, Justin; 4 great grandchildren, Andrew, Hailey, Skyler, Jaelyn; and his best friend and companion, Patricia Rushton.
Pallbearers are Russell Gropp, Todd Page, Henry Brewton, Michael Vaughn, Stanley Hammac, and AJ Gates.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Mueller, Chris Phelps, Scott Milstead, Donnie Haveard, and Ryan Martin.
Brother Bill Flanagan will be officiating the service.
A visitation will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. with the service to follow at 3:30 p.m.

Pallbearers are Russell Gropp, Todd Page, Henry Brewton, Michael Vaughn, Stanley Hammac, and AJ Gates.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Mueller, Chris Phelps, Scott Milstead, and Ryan Martin.
