Janice Watson
1944 - 2017
Janice Charlene Michael Watson was born into the union of Cleatos William Michael and Mattie Lou Cole during the height of WW2 on June 14, 1944. She was blessed with a wonderful man she called Dad, Edward Bernard Smathers, who taught her life’s lessons.
True to the time of her birth was her death during the predawn of October 15, 2017. She was a warrior who lived and died on her own terms; not willing to be dictated to nor controlled.
Janice was a great cook and an avid gardener! She enjoyed playing Bingo, silent auctions, hunting for unique items at thrift stores, yard sales, and flea markets.
She volunteered at the Red Cross and the VFW for many years. Janice was a social butterfly who never
met a stranger and loved all of her friends very much.
Janice left behind the love of her life and the father of her children, Johnny James Watson, Sr. The bond of their love produced 5 children: Amanda Watson, Johnny Watson Jr. (Tammy), Christopher Watson (Bonita), Michael Watson, Mark Watson (Louise). She adored her 12 grandchildren: Canaan, Seth, Adam, Brandy, Kelly, Konner, Sydney, Racheal, Taylor, Talyia, Tylan, and Mackenzie; and 6 great-grandchildren: Felicity, Aubrey, Emelia, Scarlett, Paisley, and Jaxon. She bragged on them daily. She was also blessed with a son at heart Kevin Davis & beloved daughter Kimberly Davenport.
Trahan Family Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at True Worship Assembly of God, 13297 Hwy 87, Jay, FL 32565.
