Obituary for Mary Jeanne Ritz

Mary Jeanne Ritz, 77, of Pensacola, FL went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2017. She was born in Litchfield, IL to her loving parents, Lupke Reents and Ruby Lant on January 8, 1940.
In her childhood, she enjoyed her time visiting her sister in Hillsboro, IL during her summers when she wasn’t in school. She went on to graduate from Feitshans High School in the class of 1958. Mary loved camping and going on cruises. She loved adventure and looked for it all throughout her life.
Mary worked for the Department of Revenue in Springfield, IL. Then when Mary moved to Pensacola, FL she went to work for the Bank of the South in the 1970’s. After moving on from the bank she went to work for the Escambia County Jail as an accountant. More recently, at the age of 50, Mary became a correctional officer in 1990 and retired in 2000; servicing the Escambia County Jail for a total of 25 years.
Mary now walks alongside the Lord with her Loving Husband, Harold Ritz; son, David Karrick; grandson, David Karrick, Jr.; father, Lupke Reents; and mother, Ruby Glasscock.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her son, Anthony Karrick; stepsons, Tony (Lorrie) Ritz, Randy (Teresa) Ritz, Jimmy (Armena) Ritz; numerous grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.
A Memorial service will be held in her honor on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Trahan Family Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with the visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
