Patricia Montgomery Palmer (affectionately known as Laine) passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017. She was born in Santa Rosa County on December 9, 1956 to parents; George and Roberta Montgomery.
Laine was educated in the schools of Santa Rosa Co. and graduated from Milton High School class of ’75. She later went to work for Vanity Fair Mills.
Laine became a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of her godfather, Rev. J. B. Blount. She served many capacities, namely usher board, choir and church treasurer. Her parents Deacon Montgomery and Deaconess Montgomery were members as well.
In 1997 Laine married the love of her life, Johnny Palmer, and they moved to Beulah for their retirement.
Laine was the epitome of kindness and was loved. She had telephone buddies, Ms. Alogene, Ms. Charlie Mae, Ms. Beddie R. Davis, and Ms. Delois Gandy who she woud talk with often.
Laine loved pictures and flowers and always wanted you to send her some, she has many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon & Mrs. George Montgomery; her sister, Ruby Miller; her grandparents; and brother-in-law, Roosevelt Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband Johnny; her only daughter, Robyn Wright; son, Johnny D. Palmer & Angela D. Palmer, whom she loved; siblings, Norris (Eugenia) Montgomery and Carlos Burnett; sisters, Doris Johnson and Anitra Burnett; brother-in-law, Sam Miller; sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth (Arthur) Perkins; nieces: Rhonda, Barbara Ann, & Debra; nephews: Carl Montgomery, Roosevelt (Kelli) Johnson, Kenny, LaDamian, Marqu’es (Ty), Jalen, and Lawrence K. Perkins; aunts: Nellie Harris, Bama Thompson, and Clemmie Finklea; uncle, Zebede Shoemaker; god-sisters, Charlie M. Kennedy and Connie Charles; several God children; her extended families: Johnson, Collins, Jackson, Walker, Archie, Phillips, Finklea, and Causey; and people special to her: Jean & Ann Causey, Carolyn-little sister & Gail.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Mt. Pilgrim African Missionary Baptist Church, Milton, FL. Burial will follow at Milton Keyser Cemetery.
