“Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord – for we walk by faith, not by sight – we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be home with the Lord.” (2 Cor. 5:6-8)
Mark Anthony (Tony) Harrison’s faith became sight Wednesday, November 29, 2017 as he went to be home with the Lord. Tony was born September 2, 1957 in Greenville, South Carolina, the third child of John Deane Harrison and Margaret Philips Harrison.
Tony excelled in football, playing until a career-ending injury his senior year at East Side High School. His love for the game, specifically Clemson University Tigers, was known by all. After high school, Tony graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
Tony was a hard-working man. He held various management positions in the freight, transportation and delivery industry for many years before accepting a position at Lowe’s in Pensacola, FL. Tony was very outgoing and constantly doing for others. He was a loving husband, father, and Pop Pop. He loved to laugh and lived to serve others selflessly. He was active with his small group at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL, as well as Coastal Church in Daphne, AL.
Tony is proceeded in death by his brother, John Harrison. He is survived by his loving wife Lisa Harrison, daughter Amanda (Johnny) Campbell, daughter Katie Harrison, grandchildren Jac, Josiah, and Annie Kate Campbell, parents Deane and Margaret Harrison, brother Phil Harrison, sister Teresa (Bob) Post, sister Rebecca (Johnny) Buchanan, sister Lynn (Engrum) Johnson, and many extended family members.
A Celebration of Life for Tony Harrison will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Coastal Church, 11101 County Road 64, Daphne, AL. 36526. Visitation will begin 10:00am, service to follow at 11:00am. The family requests that attendee’s wear Clemson colors: Clemson Orange and Regalia Purple in honor of Tony. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Coastal Church, Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, Dabo’s All In Team Foundation (Founded by Clemson’s Head football coach), or the charity of your choice.
