Obituary for Jo Ann Seay

JoAnn Seay fell asleep in death on December 17, 2017 in Pensacola, FL. She was born in Taft, Texas on January 1, 1937 as the only child of W.F. and Jo Bell Seay. She is preceded in death by her parents.

JoAnn grew up in Corpus Christi, TX. She grew up in a family dedicated to Jehovah God, she made her dedication and was baptized September 10, 1952 in Galveston, TX. JoAnn loved her God and Lived a life of unselfish service to Jehovah and her family. She was excited to got to New York to attend conventions in 1950, 1953, and 1958. JoAnn was married in 1954 and along with her husband served as a Regular Pioneer in Beeville, TX. In 1961 they attended Kingdom Ministry school in New York City. After school they moved to Brownsville, TN to serve as Special Pioneers. They returned to Corpus Christi in 1963 to raise a family.

After the birth of her second child JoAnn found herself a single mother and focused her time and effort on raising her two children. JoAnn was very thankful to her parents for their loving assistance in caring of her children as she worked in banking. In 1976 JoAnn and her two children move to Wimberly, TX. She worked as a secretary for a large resort community until 1979 when she began a business of selling and building log home, one of which she would live in for almost 30 years. Her parents moved to Wimberley, so she could assist in caring for her terminally ill mother until her early death at 73 and gave loving care to her father until his death in 2009 at the age of 94. She returned to her working career in the banking industry and retail until she retired and moved to Pensacola, FL to live with her daughter in December of 2009.

In her over 65 years as a faithful servant of Jehovah she helped many come to know and worship God. Her strongest desire was for her children to know and love Jehovah and as a result of her efforts she was able to see both her children dedicate their lives to Him. JoAnn had a strong and determined personality which served her well, she always worked to find a solution to the situations that she and her family came across. She was a loyal and devoted friend who loved her friends as if they were her family. In the last few years of her life she was not able to attend the congregation meetings in person as often as she would have liked but she was so very thankful to Jehovah for his provisions of being able to listen over the phone and she was faithful in doing so every week. She loved JW Broadcast and all the new songs. Her favorite songs were “See Yourself When All Is New” and “Just Around the Corner”. These songs now take on greater meaning as her family is hoping in the resurrection of our dear mother, friend, and sister JoAnn.
