Obituary for Weaver Field "W.F." Miller Jr.

Weaver Field, “W.F.”, “Dub”, Miller, Jr., passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018, after a brief illness. W.F. was born on April 18, 1925 in Jay, Fl., to Weaver Field Miller Sr., and Anna Ward Miller. W.F. spent most of his life in this area and retired from Air Products in 1984 after a long distinguished career. Although W.F. retired from Air Products, he was far from retiring. He was not the type to become idle. W.F. always loved construction, so he decided to obtain his contractors license, and open W.F. Miller, Builders. Over the next 20 years, and many homes constructed, W.F. became and was considered one of the premier builders in Santa Rosa County. He retired for a second time in 2004. W.F. also loved cars. He became a collector of Thunderbirds and over the last number of years, entered countless number of car shows in this area and won numerous trophies. He was extremely happy to participate in all these car shows.
W.F. is preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. W.F. Miller, Sr., brothers, Fred Miller, Leon Miller, and Curlan Miller, and beloved daughter Sandra Miller Barrett. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Willodean Smith Miller, brother, Billy Miller, daughters Sherrie Miller Nelson (David), and Kay Miller Dawson (Steve). Grandchildren include Bradley Nelson (Ashley), Matthew Nelson (Laura), Emily Nelson, Michael Barrett (Catherine), Christopher Barrett (Lauren), Miller Hamrick (Ben), Trey Hamrick (Melissa), William Hamrick, 4 great grand children, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
A graveside burial service for family and close friends, will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 2pm, at the Jay Cemetery in Jay Florida, with the Reverend Paul Douglas Wolfe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the First United Methodist Church in Milton, or a charity of your choice.
