Obituary for Tony Gene Broxton Sr.

Tony Gene Broxton, Sr., 81, of Pea Ridge Community went to his Heavenly Home on February 4, 2018.
Tony was a native of Pensacola and lived in this area all his life. He retired with 27 years of service from the United States Army and was inducted in Florida National Guard Hall of Fame. He was a former supervisor at the Naval Aviation Museum. He was a member of the West Florida Baptist Church.
Tony was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Mitchem and his parents, Barto and Irma Broxton;
Survivors include: his loving wife of 49 years, Willa Broxton; his children: Donald Lynn Mitchem, Tony Gene Broxton, Jr., Peggy Ann Jepson, and Barbara Denise Smith; grandchildren: Maria Simmons, Allen Simmons, Joshua Simmons, Yolanda De La Cruz, Andrea Kreakbaum, and Kathleen Jepson; six great grandchildren; and his best friend and companion, JoJo his loving little dog.
Tony will be lovingly remembered for his love of his family, his church, his best friend his dog JoJo, gospel music, playing cards and dominoes, traveling to the East Tennessee mountains and Cades Cove.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at West Florida Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Stewart and Rev. Mike Brown, officiating.
Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 12 noon with full military honors.
Active pallbearers are: Marion Williams, W.C. Lowery, Earl Cox, Lloyd Sellier, Allen Simmons, and Joshua Simmons.
Honorary pallbearers are: Paul Shipe, Gerald Joseph, Bill Young, and Al Day.
