Gary Woodrow Edwards
Gary Woodrow Edwards, 70, of Pensacola, FL went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2018. He was born in Washington D.C. to his loving parents, Woodrow and Helen Edwards on September 23, 1947.
Gary was a devoted member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Pensacola, FL. He was also, in his free time, a volunteer fire fighter. He had attended Escambia High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. He had graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in science and business administration from Troy State University. He had been an eagle scout in his youth and loved surfing, swimming, and traveling. After college, Gary joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was an avid surfer and swimmer, whom loved traveling.
He now walks alongside the Lord with his mother, father, and numerous aunts and uncles.
His memory lives on in the hearts of his wife, Marsha S. Edwards; sister, Marcia A. Edwards; aunt, Mary Hale; and numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Haven of our Lady of Peace and all the wonderful nurses and CNAs who took special care of Gary, we love you. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Murlidhar Amin, Cardiologist- Dr. Maria Toledo, Neurosurgery-Dr. Tarek Eldawy, Oncology, Dr. Dennis Mayeaux, GP., Admins., and the V.A. Clinic of Pensacola, FL.
A service will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Barrancas National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. The family will be meeting at 1 Navy Boulevard Pensacola, FL 32508 to proceed to Barrancas at 12:15 p.m.
