Elizabeth Ann George Akins went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the age of 46.
Elizabeth Ann George Akins was born September 17, 1971. She was a store and area manager for Bealls Department Store. She was one of their longest standing employees, serving for more than 30 years. She was the youngest of seven siblings. Elizabeth was often quoted as saying, “You do for family,” and her life demonstrated this in many ways.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her beautiful daughter, Amelia Pauline Akins; and her loving husband, William “Willie” Akins of Milton, FL; her parents, George C. George and Pauline George of Orlando, FL; six siblings and their spouses, Randal Clay George (Linda), Wanda George Hamric (Paul) Donna George Moskovitz (Danny), Charles Everett George (Molly), Myron Wesley George (Melissa), Valerie George Christy (Lyle); 17 nieces and nephews; 13 great-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in several states including KY, OH, and FL.
Her family paid this tribute to her: “She is irreplaceable, the kind of person you only get one of.”
“So selfless! She loved her parents deeply and was the head organizer of her parents’ 50th and 60th wedding anniversary parties.”
“She could turn a tense moment into smiles and laughter.”
“She was a mom, wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, and friend. She will be greatly missed.”
Her viewing will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Pensacola on March 27, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A memorial service will take place in Orlando, FL the following week.
