Obituary for Anderson Coats Lunsford Sr.
He was born on April 4, 1929, in Alabama to J.C. and Lettie V. Lunsford who preceded him in death along with his wife of 46 years, Frances Lucille Shiver Lunsford; his son,
A.C. Lunsford Jr.; and two sisters, Etowah Thomas and Mryl Lunsford.
He is survived by: daughters, Andrea Kay Schiffers and Frances (Jimmy) Everidge; grandchildren, Christopher (Karen) Temple, Devan (Jim) McGhee, Raven (Clay) Askew and A.C. “Dusty” Lunsford III; great grandchildren; brothers, Ralph (Thelma), Virgil (Clara), Harold (Barbara), Ferren (Opal), Waylan (Hazel); sister, Nell (Johnnie) Porter; and a large extended family.
Andy was part of the greatest generation, a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many. His faith and family were the two most important pillars in his life. He was raised on a South Alabama farm and then moved to Northwest Florida as a young boy.
Andy served his country by joining the United States Army Air Corp when he was of age. He retired after 33 years of service with Southern Bell and dabbled in several business ventures in his retirement.
Please join the family in celebrating Andy's life on March 30, 2018 from 10:00- 11:00 am for a visitation with family, immediately followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Pine Terrace Baptist Church, Milton, Florida. Dr Michael Wiggins will be officiating.
