Kenneth James Brennan, Jr., 88, passed away on April 20, 2018 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was born in Rock Island, IL on March 17, 1930 to Kenneth James Brennan, Sr. and Ethel Jean Rohr.

He graduated from Schurz High School in Chicago, IL and attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport, IA.

Kenneth entered the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, serving primarily as a Master Aviator, flying both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He was stationed in Iran from 1961-1963, a highlight was piloting Cardinal Spellman around the devastated areas after the Iranian Earthquake of 1962, when the Cardinal had brought a sizable donation from the Vatican to the Iranian Red Crescent for relief services. Another highlight was serving as the bowling partner of the Shah of Iran when the first bowling alley was built in Teheran. Perhaps the most unique experience was having as neighbors, the Israeli team who were constructing the water system which would bring drinkable water to the city of Teheran and its environs.

He represented United Mercantile Agencies in Northern Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. He resided in Lake Bluff, IL until he became Vice President of Sales in 1977, which was headquartered in Louisville, KY. There he was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and Hunting Creek Country Club.

Kenneth retired to Bluewater Bay, FL in November of 1993 and became of member of Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church. He then moved to Milton, FL in April 2007 and attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

He was an enthusiastic and accomplished golfer with 3 holes-in-one to his credit. A life-long Cubs fan, he finally got to cheer them on to a World Series win.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandchild, Gabriel and his niece, Kelly.

Survivors include: wife, Maura; children: Timothy Alan Brennan, Terese Ann Wical, Kenneth Robert Bond, and Sean Lacey Brennan; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Brennan; and nieces and nephews: Kathy, Laurie, Jackie, Michael, Johnny, and Kevin.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, 6539 Trammel Dr., is in charge of arrangements.

Family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. on April 26, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the funeral mass following at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Gardens Cemetery in Niceville, Florida.
