Richard Arnold Main

Richard Arnold Main passed away after a seven-year battle with cancer. He moved on to his heavenly home at 3:00 a.m. on May 26, 2018.
He was born in Sumter, South Carolina on August 6, 1937. Raised in Georgetown, South Carolina and attended Winyah High School.
He served his country, honorably, in the United States Navy for 20 years from 1957 – 1977; stationed in Morocco, Guam, Japan, Philippines, Azores, Iceland and State side. After retiring, he joined the CIA for 15 years from 1977 - 1992 and served with the Embassies in Liberia, Indonesia, Austria, Switzerland and State side.
Richard moved to Pensacola 22 years ago. He was a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and served in any roll needed from crossing guard to Yoke fellow. He loved his church family and served the Lord's will.
He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, blue grass festivals, gospel groups, and being Dad to Da Girlz (his harem).
He is preceded in death by his father, Dudly Alvin Main; mother, Irene Freeman Main; and his brothers, Dudly and Robert Main.
Richard is survived by his sister, Martha L. Campbell (John); his loving wife of 40 years, Leona Kay Ewing Main; five children: James, Marcus (Yolanda), Tracy Main Sclease (Anthony), Robert, and Richelle; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In memory of Richard, donations may be made to Myrtle Grove Baptist Church building fund or donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice.
There will be no services, and Richard will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
