James M. Nelson
1942 - 2018

James Melvin Nelson born at home in Allentown, FL on July 1, 1942, passed away on June 1, 2018 at the age of 75. He resided in Milton, FL.

James has been a native of Santa Rosa County all his life. He was retired from Florida Department of Transportation.

He was a faithful member of Pace Assembly of God.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Inez Castleberry Nelson; his father, Marion E. Nelson and his mother, Myrtle E. Nelson.

James leaves to cherish his memories - children: Judy Lynn (Byron) McCormick of Pensacola, Jo Ann (John) Tedder of Milton and Joyce Ann (Jeff) Phillipi of Milton; grandchildren: Angel Lynn (David) Daniels of Pensacola, Timothy DeWayne (Rima) Burkett of Milton, Magnum Keith McCormick of Texas, Amanda Grace McCormick of Texas, Michael Tedder of Missouri, Dennis Tedder of Tampa, FL and Jeremy Phillipi of Albuquerque, NM; great-grandchildren: Kalom Daniels of Pensacola, AJ Daniels of Pensacola, Melody Daniels of Pensacola, Dylan Beers of Milton, Haley Beers of Milton, Dustin Beers of Milton, Devin Beers of Milton, Hannah Beers of Milton, Haidyn Harper of Texas, Rileigh Harper of Texas and Emma Kate of Texas.

He also leaves to cherish his memories: sister, Judia Bell Ates of Pace; brothers: Ralph (Peggy) Nelson of Pace, Delmas (Catherine) Nelson of Pace, Phillip Nelson of Pace and Jerry (Gloria) Nelson of Pace and many step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton.

Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2018 with Reverend Ron Carnley officiating.

Pallbearers will be Lathan Simonton, Dylan Beers, Dustin Beers, Devin Beers, Dakota Harris and Gillam Boyd.
