Obituary for Linda Lancaster Jackson

Linda Lancaster Jackson, 71, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.
Born in the Mississippi Delta in Greenville, Mississippi on February 26, 1947, Linda’s early years were spent moving frequently, as the firstborn of an active Air Force family. She spent most of her early childhood in and around northwest Florida and southeast Alabama. After her family’s return to Greenville, Mississippi, Linda graduated from Greenville High School in 1965. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1969, with a degree in Elementary Education. She then accepted a position teaching first grade at Southside Elementary in Crestview, Florida. Shortly thereafter, she met her future husband, Leon Jackson. They married on February 4, 1970 and made their home in Jay, Florida where they raised their three children.
Linda’s greatest blessing was her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She truly embodied God’s love in everything she did.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Stanley P. and Sara M. Lancaster, of Greenville, MS; brother, Stanley P. “Bo” Lancaster, Jr.; sister, Marjorie Harms.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Leon Jackson, of Jay, FL; her children: Leah Fields (John), Barnett Crossroads, AL; Erin Davis (Wes), Huxford, AL; Mark Jackson, Jay, FL.
Linda’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. She considered them gifts from God.
Grandchildren: Jacob, Josh and Sam Fields, Noah Blue, Abby and Kate Davis. To them, she was simply, “Nana”.
Surviving also: sister, Beth Clatchey (Shannon).
Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Doris Jackson Lee; Ray Jackson; Kenny Jackson; Lawrence Jackson (Donna); Debbie Jackson Hawthorne; Jane Salter.
Pallbearers are: grandsons, Jacob, Josh, and Sam Fields; Noah Blue; nephews, Jack Clatchey, Stephen Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Cora Baptist Church.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, 6539 Trammel Dr, Milton, FL 32570 is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Cora Baptist Church, 12953 Chumuckla Highway, Jay, FL 32565. Services will be held immediately following at 3:00 p.m. Brother Earle Greene and Brother Ladon Hall, officiating.
She lived her life as a Christian example for her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and, last but not least, friend.
We love her and will miss her so !
