Obituary for Nora Jones

Nora   Jones
Nora Jones, 87, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 7:20 p.m. Nora was born January 17, 1931 in Artemus, KY, to her parents Kelly and Laveta Davis. She moved from Kentucky to Cincinnati, OH where she lived and went to school until meeting the love of her life, Bill Jones.

She met her husband, William (Bill) Jones in Cincinnati and they married in 1948. Nora spent 30 years as a Naval wife, traveling around the globe, then they settled in Milton, FL in 1967. They retired from the Navy in 1974. They got in to real estate at McCall Realty in Milton. Then they opened Bill Jones Realty in Milton in 1979 and are still open today. Bill and Nora were married 55 years.

Nora was always involved in her beloved church, Olivet Baptist from 1967 till present. She was Vacation Bible School Director for total of 45 years. She enjoyed her Sunday School, Bible
Studies, and precious fellowship with all her fellow church folks. She had many special friends that she loved dearly at church.

She was also active in the American Red Cross, Santa Rosa County Project 60, Santa Rosa County Board of Realtors, and many others.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Kelly and Laveta Davis; her husband, Bill Jones; her son, Jack Jones; two sisters, Madelline Thomas and Dottie Chain; one brother, Glenn Davis; two sisters-in-law, Martha Hart and Agnes Corbitt; three brothers-in-law, Lester Hart, Stan Jones, and Pete Corbitt; one niece, Tye Womack and two nephews, Bruce Davis and Tim Hart.

Survivors include: her brother, Bill Davis (Charlene); brothers-in-law, Joe Thomas and Roger Chain; and one sister-in-law, Joan Jones. She loves them all very much. She is also survived by: her daughter, Kathryn Weeks, (Michael Gray); daughter-in-law, Nora Jones; three grandsons, Casey Jones (Juli); Kenny Weeks (Kelsey White) and Sam Weeks; one granddaughter, Janoah Jones; a special couple, Correna and Phillip Holland that she loved very much; Five great grandsons; Michael, Kacee, Matt, Brayden, and Colton; two great granddaughters, Jada and Danielle; her 4 legged friend, Oreo; nine nephews; and four nieces.

Nora loved her special friends: Jean B.; Carolyn H.; Myrtle S.; Dottie R.; Annie H; and Tommie T.
She was a generous, loving, forgiving woman. She cooked and baked everyday of her life almost till the end. It warmed her heart to deliver and share food to those that needed it and just because she wanted to. She shared her love and faith in God to many, many people. She would look and search out the good in everyone. We will all miss her.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial service will be held on July 19, 2018 at 6:00p.m. at Olivet Baptist Church
in Milton, FL.
