Obituary for Lee Grace Pinkney

Lee Grace Blakely Pinkney was born June 21, 1937 to the late Coley and Onnie Harris Blakely in Cuba, AL. She was raised and educated in Sumpter County.

In 1952, she moved to Milton, FL., with her first husband Melvin Graham, where they were blessed with seven children from their union.

In later years, she was joined in holy matrimony to Wilson Pinkney Jr., whom she greatly loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Pinkney Jr.; her mother and father; sisters, Essie Mae, Bessie Mae, Birtha Lee and Gertrude; brothers, T.C., Ellis, Thomas, and Leroy; two children, Daniel and Johnny.

She leaves to cherish her memories four sisters, Mary Etta Hines of Rialto, CA., Rebecca Loston of Laurel, MS., Lillie Mae Burton of Brookehaven, MS., and Lillie B. White of York, AL.; three brothers Roosevelt (Betty) Nixon of Jasper, AL., Robert (Emma) Blakely of York, AL., and Spencer Blakely of Meridian, MS.; seven children Betty Bloxson of Pensacola, FL., Melvin Graham Jr., of North Carolina, Rose Mary Coleman of Mansfield, OH, Carolyn (Josh Sr.) Johnson of Milton, FL., Spencer Graham of Milton, FL., and Barbara (Darren) Waitman of Milton, FL.; her devoted friends, JoAnn McBride, Barbara Jean Cade, Irene Pinkney, Libby Pinkney, Mattie Freeman, and Yvonne Walker; 23 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Ferris Hill Church of God in Christ, burial to follow at Milton Keyser Cemetery.

The family would like to express Great appreciation for your prayers, visits, phone calls and other acts of kindness in our time of Bereavement. We would like to give a special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice team Mrs. Cindy, Sarah, Mark, Olga, and Vickie, Pruitt Health Care, Southern Oaks, and Santa Rosa Hospital Staff.
