Authetta Faye Black, 87, passed away at home on September 30, 2018. Faye was born in Pensacola, Florida, to Fred and Izola Thompson and grew up in the Gull Point area near Spanish Trail with her three sisters and five brothers. After living in the Pacific Northwest for several years, she resettled in Pensacola approximately sixty years ago. She was an accomplished artist, with a love of traveling and spending time in the great outdoors with family and friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, three brothers, and her infant daughter Theresa. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Arch L. Black, who called her his “sugar booger”. She is also survived by two brothers, Bill and Richard, and by her children Deborah (Butch) Petch, David (Darlene) Coyner, William (Amy) Coyner, Robert (Christy) Black, and Curtis Black, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola is in charge of arrangements and will hold a visitation on Tuesday, October 16, at 11:00 a.m., with service at 12:00p.m. and interment at BNC Pensacola at 1:30 p.m. Following interment, family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life at Warrington Elks' Lodge #2108, 727 S. 72nd Ave., Pensacola, FL.
