Shirley Spivey Martin
(May 15, 1948 – October 2, 2018)
Shirley Martin, 70, of Pensacola, Florida went to be with the Lord and walk the streets of gold October 2, 2018. She was born in Polk County, North Carolina in May 15, 1948 to her loving parents Calvin and Rosa Spivey.
Shirley was married to her best friend Vernon Martin for 44 years. She enjoyed working with children at Kiddie Korral Childcare Center for 27 years. Mrs. Shirley was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother to all that has had the pleasure of knowing her. She always had the answer, was wise beyond years of experience.
Shirley is preceded in death by her father, Calvin Spivey; husband, Vernon Martin; and brother, Norman Spivey
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Rosa Norris; brothers, Leon, Russell, and Roger Spivey; daughter, Elizabeth Francoeur; son, David Martin Jr., grandchildren, Michaela and Joshua Francoeur, and many other relatives as well as friends
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL.
Her body will be laid to rest at Barrances National Cemetery 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2018
