The Life of Anna Laura Franklin

Anna Laura Franklin was born on August 21, 1938 to Mary “Lula” Goldstucker and Ralph Collins in Pensacola, FL. She entered the family joining Catherine (aka Reverend Monife), William, with later baby sister Tamia being born.

She met and married Daniel Wesley Austin, to which two children were born of this union, Denise and Cathy. Tish was an exceptional bowler, which is where she received her nickname, “Tish”.

Tish was a member of Orange Blossom Temple and was employed at The Bunny Club operated by her uncle, J. P. Newton and American Legion Post 193.

Tish was preceded in death by her husbands, Daniel Austin and Bennie Franklin; mother, Mary Goldstucker; nephew, Thomas Moore; brother-in-law, Larry Logan and brother, William Pinkney.

Tish leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Denise Bonner (Eyvind Clay) and Cathy Austin; adopted son, Aaron “A.J.” Jordan; seven grandchildren, Sha-tee McGraw, Vernon Gray, Devin (Anna) Bonner, Tyleah Bonner, Destin Bonner, Tyleahna Milton and Devina Hall; five great-grandchildren, Zikiria Sheffield, Dy’man Sheffield, Le’avion McGraw, Le’Tahj McGraw, and La’miya McGraw; two great-great-grandchildren, Ka’iden Patterson and Ny’aila Bright; two sisters, Catherine Moore and Tamia Logan; sister-in-law, Joycelyn Pinckney; two cousins, Louis (Joyce) Valcour and Cheryl Christopher; a very special nephew, Kehinde Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

We, the family of Anna Laura Franklin, would like to say thank you for the prayers, words of comfort and many acts of kindness in our time of bereavement. We would like to also extend our sincere appreciation to the staff at Rosewood Manor and Covenant Hospice for their care of our mother. May God bless and keep each of you is our prayer.

My Mother Kept A Garden

My Mother kept a garden. A garden of the heart; she planted all the good things, that gave my life it's start.
She turned me to the sunshine, and encouraged me to dream: fostering and nurturing the seeds of self-esteem.
And when the winds and rains came, she protected me enough; but not too much, she knew I'd need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example, always taught me right from wrong; markers for my pathway to last my whole life long.
I am my Mother's garden, I am her legacy. And I hope today she feels the love, reflected back from me.
