Obituary for Deltra Johnson

Print
Deltra Lynne (Williams) Johnson was born May 2,1964 to the late Erma Jean Coleman and Albert Williams Sr. She was the seventh of eight children. She leaves behind her three older sisters: Rongretia (Albert) Burton, Marilyn (Michael) Stokes, Sandra (Willie) Moss; two brothers, Albert Williams Jr. and Sean (Martha) Salter; two living great relatives, Uncle Jerry L. Williams, Sr. and Aunt Linda Kurt. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Vanessa (Monroe) Ramseaur and Rose (Jeffrey) Hill.

Some say that Dee Dee had no children, but she had many. Her children were her nieces and nephews, and her great nieces and nephews: Janesetta Novacic (Anthony, Ryan & Tianna) ,Kumeco Williams (Michael, Ashton & Taverlyn) Darin Franklin (Anthony, Dezmond & Edward) , Temitrius “Tee” Burton (LaMonica) , Jonathan “John John” Ramseaur (Olivia) ,Willie Moss III (Shaquille & Simone), Antonio Burton, Shanti Bryd (LaMontrae & Aishan), Jamilia Moss (LaKendra & Jaylean), Kory Cole, Jarrod Hill (Yasmynn, Josiah & Lailahh) Ashley “Baby Sister”Hill , Brittany LaGroom, Briana Salter, Tatianna Salter. She was everyone’s “Aunt Dee Dee” and radiated when around her family and friends.

Deltra or “Dee Dee” as she was affectionately called, never met a stranger. She had a genuine love for everyone she met. If you ask anyone that knew her they can tell a story of how Dee Dee impacted their life and brought them laughter. The family asks that we remember those times. Let us remember the fish frys, the cookouts, the “Mary Street” get-togethers, and the love that was shared. Dee Dee always said she wanted to impact others for the Kingdom of God. She was not ashamed to talk about the Jesus she served and how sweet He is. While life tried to bring her down, she always found ways to praise God and speak Life until the very end.

Dee Dee won her fight with Cancer on October 29, 2018. She was surrounded by her loved ones, bringing family together in worship until her last breath on this side. She is now reunited with her late loved ones and heard the words “Well Done”. Rest now Aunt Dee Dee: Mother, Sister, Friend, and Angel.

Thank you to each and every one who has reached out to the family.
We appreciate your time and kind words during this time of sorrow.
