Obituary for Russell Norman Perry Jr.

Russell Norman Perry
(September 5, 1962 – November 5, 2018)

Russell Norman Perry of Pensacola, age 56, passed away after sudden cardiac arrest on Monday, November 5th, 2018 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola. He was born on September 5th, 1962 in Providence, Rhode Island to Russell Norman Perry Sr. and Joan Arlene Williams Perry. Russell grew along with his siblings Dawn Morgan, Debra Crossley, Denise Spoor, Brad Perry, Brian Perry, and Kathy Brockett up north before heading south with his family when he was six years old.

He married Venus Angela Zepnick on December 30th, 1997 where he created and nurtured with her a family in the city of Pensacola. Russell was an accomplished automotive worker, having owned his own auto paint and body shop, and eventually working on dream projects along with his friends. Once a gearhead always a gearhead as one would say, as he lived for the life of repairing, restoring, and customizing cars that he could be proud of.

But of course, cars were not his only passion in life, as he was a dedicated family man known for being a doting, loyal husband, loving father, and caring and dependable grandfather. One of the most notable examples was his dedication towards the love of his life Venus during her terminal illness, relentlessly making sure she was comfortable and happy until the end no matter what. Russell had an unfailing heart of gold, a quick wit, and a wise and knowledgeable mind, all of which made an incredible man whose loss will not outweigh the memories of the good he accomplished on his time here on Earth.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life his wife, Venus Perry; sister, Dawn Morgan; and father, Russell Norman Perry Sr.

Russell is survived by his two children, Ann Margaret Perry and Russell Clinton Perry; the former with two grandchildren, Kayleigh and Andrew Fields; and his mother, Joan Perry; along with his siblings, Debra Crossley, Denise Spoor, Brad Perry, Brian Perry, and Kathy Brockett.

A going home service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola.
The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. with the service starting immediately after at 4:00 p.m.
