James (Jim) R. Somerville, 86, passed away on January 01, 2019. He was born on June 22, 1932 in Central Lake, Michigan to the parents of Glen and Josephine Somerville.
Jim is survived by his wife Arlene James Somerville and his four children Bobby (Charlotte) Somerville of Blairsville, GA, Gail Somerville Banks of Pensacola, FL, Craig (Sandy) Somerville of Pensacola, FL and Jody Somerville of Columbia, MD.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jeromy (Elizabeth) Somerville of Ridgecrest, CA, Travis (Eileen) Somerville of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jesse Somerville of Pensacola, FL, Trey (Kristy) Banks of Pensacola, FL, Trenton Banks of Pensacola, FL, Trevor (Sharon) Banks of Pensacola, FL, Michael (Amy) Nelson of Pensacola, FL, Kristy Somerville of Pensacola, FL, C. J. Somerville of Pensacola, FL; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters Maureen (Dave) Patton of Central Lake, MI, Barbara McDowell of Traverse City, MI and his brother Ken (Diane) Somerville of Pensacola, FL.
Jim was retired from the U. S. Navy after serving 22 years as a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He will be deeply missed.
A service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.The family will be meeting at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola at 9:30a.m. and leaving in procession to Barrancas at 10:00a.m.
