Joseph (Mike) Michael Huey

Joseph Michael Huey, 85, passed away on January 10, 2019, in Pensacola, FL. Mike was born to Joseph Wilson Huey and Nell Claxton Huey on January 30, 1933, in Chattanooga, TN.
Following service in the U.S. Army, Mike attended Ringling Art School in Sarasota, FL. He was employed by The Atlanta Journal in the art department for 14 years and worked as a freelance artist afterward. Of his many subjects, his favorite was his grandchildren, of whom he was very proud. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Pensacola for several years and used his artistic talent to paint murals in the church building.
Mike was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Alice Rebekah Kinzie.
He is survived by his two sons, David Huey (Cathy) and Joel Huey (Ying), and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019, starting at 5:00 p.m. until service begins at 6:00 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Pensacola.
