Mike Sanders passed away February 20, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his late wife Audrey Sanders, his parents Julius and Druzilla V. Sanders and his step-daughter Tami Mears.
Mike is survived by his sister Pat Nelson, brothers Gary and Larry Sanders, several nieces and nephews, as well as his grandchildren Felicia Davis and Jeremy Mears and three great grandsons.
He was a loving husband and father. He and Audrey were married for 44 years and built a life that they truly enjoyed together, especially fishing. Audrey was his one true love and he clearly expressed it caring for her until she fell asleep in death. He was a great father, but an even better grandfather!! Although he was a very private man, no one ever had to doubt his love. He loved you hard and always made sure you knew how proud he was of you. Being a constant comic, he was one hot mess, always wanting to get you with a joke or prank.
Mike was a hard worker, a contractor by trade—one of the best - - and you better believe he always had a new project or idea he wanted to talk to you about. He enjoyed gardening and raising animals, especially chickens. He could talk about them for hours! He knew how the earth worked and how to work it. He could plant a garden and always shared what it yielded.
Mike, we loved you in life, we loved you in death and we will eternally love you and carry your memory in each one of our hearts.
