Obituary for Gary J Langhammer
Gary J. Langhammer, 73 of Pensacola, FL passed away at home on February 28, following a brief illness. He was born in 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska to Joseph Langhammer, Sr and Ruth Langhammer. He grew up in Ft. Worth Texas and attended Pascal High School. Gary graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in film and a lifelong love of the medium.
Gary was an award-winning commercial photographer who moved to the Pensacola area in 1985 and opened GL Studios. He was an officer in the Professional Photographers of America and an adjunct professor a Pensacola State College, passing his love for the art of photography on to others. Gary was employed by Enterprise Holdings and made many friends there.
Gary attended St. Luke Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, which brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as his sister Cynthia Moran.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Jay Langhammer; his wife, Mallie Langhammer; three children, Kelly Mitchell, Carrie Lynn and Mike Burnes; as well as two grandchildren, Chris Mitchell and Nick Mitchell. He also leaves behind many friends an extended family.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, March 16th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Gary Langhammer was a man who never met a stranger and all that knew him are welcome to attend.
