Eleanor Catherine Claxton

Eleanor Catherine Claxton, 76, passed peacefully at home on March 1, 2019, surrounded by her devoted family. She was born to Msg. James C. Brown and Eleanor Brown in Columbus, GA, October 25, 1942.

"Cathy" was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 44 years, Sgt. Roy. C. Claxton, Jr.

Cathy was the embodiment of love, kindness and acceptance for all who knew her. She was a peacemaker and a peacekeeper. She had a great love of Rock and Roll music, was a talented artist, and played the guitar exquisitely. The thing that brought her the most joy in life was her grandchildren and watching them grow into kind and loving people.

Survivors include 2 sons, James and Randall (Laurie) Pointer, 1 daughter, Lisa (LaMar) Palmer, 3 grandsons, Ashton and Channon Foster and Ayden Palmer, and 1 granddaughter, Rhiannan (Christian) Beck.

A small service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 12:00 on Friday, April 19, 2019. Trahan Family Funeral Home, will lead the procession to Pensacola Naval Air Station at 11:30 sharp. Cathy will be interred with her husband, Sgt. Roy C. Claxton, Jr. Friends and family are invited to the Palmer Home for a celebration of her life, immediately following.
