Obituary for Emery Edward "Emory" Porter Sr.

Emory E. Porter (AKA Pops, Uncle Doodles)

Emory E. Porter, of Crestview, FL, 83, passed away Friday, June21, 2019, at Covenant Care Hospice of Sacred Heart Pensacola, Florida. He was born on February 11, 1936 in Van, West Virginia to Leslie and Carrie Porter. Emory grew up in Seth, West Virginia.
One of his achievements was serving his county proudly in the Us Army in 1952, until he retired in 1969.
Emory enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting, gardening, raising chickens and spending time on the farm. His infectious smile, humor and personality was loved by everyone he met.
Preceded by parents Leslie and Carrie Porter, wife Lois Porter and son Paul (Peanut), Brothers- Jim, Bill, and Harold and sisters- Lil, Doris, Helen and Kat
Survived by son Emery E Porter (Tony) Crestview, Florida; son, Larry W Porter Sr. from Niagara Falls, New York; sister, Gloria Lamb from Walbridge, Ohio; and brother, Gregg Porter from Georgia; Stepson, Eddie Smith from Crestview, Florida; and stepdaughter, Eva Capaldi from Lighthouse Point, Florida; grandchildren, Larry W Porter Jr. from Pompano Beach, Florida, Melissa D. Lipscomb from Bristol, VA, and many other beloved grandchildren; great grandchildren, Kayla from Coral Springs, Florida, Hunter from Killeen, Texas, Daelan from Pompano Beach, Florida; great-great grandson, Conor from Coral Springs, Florida; He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A special thank you to all his medical professional caregivers for taking care of him and his family in their time of need including his niece Leslie Bell for being here with us. Emory had many friends that he considered family including Todd West, Theresa and Mark Williams, Greg Quint, Carol Quint and Jeff Quint. He appreciates all their love and kindness they have brought to this family. Also, thank you to Trahan Funeral home for handling this process with the utmost care.
