January 13, 1949 – January 28, 2019

Wandis Pauline Redd born on January 13, 1949 passed on January 28, 2019
Our beautiful mother Wanda Redd, 70yrs of age, from Pensacola, Florida earned her angel wings on January 28, 2019 during her stay at Covenant Hospice of West Florida Hospital. Our mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in April 2018 after receiving chemo she continued to battle her fight. On December 31st we learned that mother had pancreatic mass as well acute liver failure. After a lengthy stay in the hospital it was time to call in hospice care. Our mother was a true definition of a fighter that is for sure. She always told us when it was her turn to go, she wanted to go in her sleep on a Sunday. She got both of those wishes as she was sleeping, her departure time was 11:58pm on Sunday as she took her last breath (the hospital noted 12:08am Monday the 28th).
Our mother was quite a character and raised her children to be strong willed, stubborn, and to never give up. Mom was always very OCD about her house being spotless which she passed on to a few of her daughters, Mother made sure her outfits, shoes, under garments and accessories matched daily. Mom’s favorite color was pink, and she always kept her nails and toes painted some form of a pink color. Our mother, all her grandkids, and great grandkids joked with her about her having more greats then grands. The smile on her face and interaction with any of the kids was always priceless to see, more so once she got sick. Mom was ready to meet her Handsome (Our dad).
Mom was the only daughter of 5 with 4 brothers. Mom later had 4 daughters and 1 son.
Our precious mother is preceded in death by her loving husband, Claude Redd; daughter, Sherry Harvey; brother, James Louie; and her Parents, Theo and Lenny.
Arrangements are being handled by Trahan Funeral Home in Pensacola on Saturday, February 2, 2019 starting with a visitation at 11:00am for friends and family and memorial service at 12:00pm with Pastor Horton of Brownsville Assembly of God.
In Lieu of Flowers the family ask for donations be made to support Covenant Care. Donations should be addressed “In memory of Wandis Redd” and can be sent to Covenant Care Foundation (5041 N. 12th Avenue Pensacola, FL 32504).
