Obituary for Donat Marcel Beland
Donat Marcel Beland, known as “Nut” by all who knew and loved him. He was born May 15, 1956 and passed away on Wednesday February 6, 2019.
He graduated from Tate High School in 1974. He had a long career as a stevedore from 1974 until a disabling injury on January 12, 2007.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Pate Beland and his father, Marcel Beland.
No one will miss him more than the love of his life – and the best thing that ever happened to him, Sandy Beland.
Those left to cherish his memory are his 3 sisters, Jo (Sam) Coker, Cindy Waldrop and Tina Wiles. Several nieces and nephews Jason Devine, Daniel Devine, Carrie Coker Hadder (Damon), Jonathan & Audrey Waldrop, Adam & Kristen Waldrop, Jarod & Addy Waldrop, Ernest Waldrop, Georgia and Shane Pollack, Scott Houston and Danny Wiles; and 15 great nieces and nephews; Sister-in-law Patsy Coyle and mother-in-law Louvene Houston.
Special friends Alan and Jackie Ard & family, Chris Smith, Curtis and Samantha Price, Adam Parker, will all miss seeing his smiling face – and stories he told.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until memorial service begins at 2:30 p.m., February16, 2019 at Trahan Family Funeral Home chapel.
