Obituary for Frances Ann Kacachos

Frances Ann Kacachos, 71 of Pensacola died Sunday evening, February 10, 2019 with family by her side. She was born in Milton, Florida on August 27, 1947 to Mary Ellen (Mayhair) Carlson and Frances F. Carlson. She grew up as the daughter of a Navy Sailor and attended various schools throughout the US and ultimately returning home to the Pensacola area, where she met the love of her life (as a teen), Jordan Kacachos. Ann & Jordan were married October 8, 1965 in Pensacola where they settled and raised their family.

Ann was active in the community and helped many families during her time with the Alpha Center for unwed mothers. She loved reading and current events (politics), but her most loved passions were cooking and family.

Ann is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jordan Kacachos and children Lucy McPhearson, Tammy (David) Taylor, James (Susan) Kacachos, Dawnmarie (Jay) Ingwell; six grandchild children, Alexandrea & Niko Taylor, Miranda McGowan, Jordan & Sydney Kacachos and Elin Ingwell and Anns siblings, Liz (Dave) Gluyas of Conyers, GA, Buddy (Donna) Carlson of Drakes Branch, VA, Pete Carlson of Milton, FL and J.D. Carlson of Crestview, FL, sisters-in-law: Bessie Samuels of Massillon, OH, Mary-Lou Pizanis of Baltimore, MD, Jeanette Teter of Columbus, OH, brother-in-law George Kacachos of Massillon, OH and many amazing nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, sister Velma Jean Carlson of Pensacola, father/mother-in-law Angelo & Bertha Kacachos of Massillon, OH, brothers-in-law Johnny Elias of Baltimore, MD, Louis Elias of Baltimore, MD, Manual Pizanis of Baltimore, MD and Don Teter of Columbus, OH.

The family held a private celebration honoring Ann which did not include flowers (smile), those who knew mom, understand her love of keeping flowers alive.

Many thanks to Kindred at Home and Emerald Coast Hospice for the care, respect and love provided to our mom, dad and entire family. A very special thank you to all of the nurses and staff who cared for and became family to our mom and dad: Brittany Brown, RN, Courtney Whiting, RN, Nicole Barnes, PT with Kindred and Carol Green, RN, Elizabeth Bockman, RN, Annabelle Hilliard, RN and Brittinie Gleason, aide with Emerald Coast Hospice.
