Obituary for Mary Bunting Wellborn

Mary B. Wellborn, 95, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on April 5, 2019 at Specialty
Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Rolling Fork, MS on September 21, 1923 to William and Josephine Bunting (Davidson).

Mary was a dedicated Legal Secretary for the Escambia County States Attorney’s
Office esteemed local legal offices and retired from Bill Baker’s firm. She and her
husband Neil loved spending time with and caring for their two grandsons. She lost Neil
in 1985. She was selfless, devoting her time serving others. She was active in Myrtle
Grove United Methodist Church. She loved children and worked many years in the
nursery volunteered with Elijah’s Pantry and served on the Mission’s Committee. Her
passion for the Mission Field led her to years of service at SIFAT, in Lineville, AL and
multiple mission trips to Mexico. Her dedication to services ended at 82 years old when
she decided to retire as Executive Administrator at Westley Scott Senior Apartments.

Mary is survived by her grandsons, Nelson “Dusty”, Emmett Wellborn Jr. (Tina), and
Timothy Neil Wellborn (Elaine); great granddaughter, Kaleigh Coates (Ashton);
great grandsons, Patrick Wellborn, Zachary Wellborn and Tyler Wellborn; sister,
Sydney Phillips; daughter-In-Law, Kimberly Wellborn; and other family and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Neil Emmett Wellborn; her son,
Nelson Emmett Wellborn Sr.; sisters, Josie Davidson-Bunting, Bertha Pollard, and
Nancy Kerr; brothers, William “Billy” Bunting and James “J.R.” Bunting.

The funeral service will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home at 419 Yoakum Ct.
Pensacola, FL 32505. Pastor Riley Richardson of Myrtle Grove United Methodist
Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Friday, April 12, 2019 2:00 p.m.,
with the service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
