Obituary for Frances Jane Taylor Blackmon

Frances Taylor Blackmon, 83, of Milton, FL was called home to heaven on Saturday, April 6, 2019. She was born to the late Elizabeth and Robert Taylor on May 23, 1935 in Pensacola, FL. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was a member of Pace Church of Christ. She graduated from Tate high school in 1953, married the love of her life, Jimmy, on February 14, 1956 becoming a minister’s wife and was wedded for 63 years. She worked in her early adult life at Sears and Chemstrand before becoming a homemaker.

She was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman, of noble character, speaks with wisdom and clothed in strength and dignity. She was an excellent seamstress and could make something beautiful out of most anything; she was a wonderful cook as well and delighted in family time over meals. She had a servant’s heart; she was a giver; she was a Godly woman; and loved her family and friends fiercely. Her family could not have been more blessed. “Charm can be deceptive, and beauty does not last, but a woman who fears and reverences God shall be greatly praised. Praise her for the many fine things she does. Give her a share in what her hands have worked for, and let her works tell her praises at the city gates.”

She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Blackmon; her parents and sister Shirley Smith.

Frances is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Blackmon; a daughter, Sharon (Charles) Hall; granddaughter, Sandi (Nick) Asarisi; grandson, Ryan Hall and a great-granddaughter, Miss Maddy Butler.
