In Loving Memory of Callie “Rita” Pool
October 15, 1952 – May 15, 2019

The funeral service or Mrs. Callie “Rita” Pool, 65, of Pensacola, FL, will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL. Brother McNeely we will be officiating. A public visitation will be held at 9:00, with a service following at 10:00.

Rita passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at home from a long battle with Lung Cancer. Rita was born on October 15, 1952 to John Thomas Heathcock and Beulah Mae Hair Heathcock in State Line, MS.

Rita was a past president of the Brent Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary. Rita coached girls softball at the Brent Softball Park and also coached cheerleading at the Brent Football Park for the Mini-Might’s, Might’s, and Junior Cheerleaders. Rita played softball on several women’s softball teams in the Pensacola area. Rita work as an insurance billing specialist.

Rita is survived by her husband, Harold M. Pool of Pensacola, FL; two daughters, Brandy J. Pool of Pensacola, FL and Crystal V. Dirks of Cantonment, FL; one son in law, Dale Dirks; two grandchildren, Caitlyn J. Dirks and Dylon Dirks of Cantonment, FL; two sisters, Agnes Croker of Laurel, MS and Virginia Morrison of West Monroe, LA; three brothers, Sam Heathcock of Gulfport, MS, Richard Heathcock of Chatom, Al, and Gordon Heathcock of New Port News, VA; as well as several nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Thomas Heathcock; mother, Beulah Heathcock; three brothers, George Heathcock, William “Shorty” Heathcock, and John Ed Heathcock: her grandparents and several aunts; and uncles.
