Nina Norma Brown Du Bois
July 14, 1933 – June 1, 2019
Nina Norma Brown Du Bois, age 85, born in Miami, and lastly a resident of Pensacola, Fla., went home to glory on Saturday, June 1. She was the youngest child of Frank O’Bryant Brown, Sr. and Sarah Nina Casey Brown.
She was a proud graduate of Miami Edison High School. As a young lady, she enjoyed spending time riding her horses and then began breeding and raising cocker spaniels. She showed her cocker spaniels as part of the Greater Miami Kennel Club.
She was a faithful member of Bird Road Baptist Church and enjoyed working for many years at Little Bird Kindergarten, nurturing children for future generations to come. Her church home in Pensacola was East Brent Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her siblings: Catherine Kidder; Frank Brown, Jr.; Barbara King; and Arthur Brown. She is survived by her daughters Sarah Michele Barbaric (John) and Louise Bethany Massie; grandchildren Aaron Loyce Cubitt (Tina) and Jenny Lynn Catha (Donald); great-grandson Wyatt Phoenix Cubitt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements made by Trahan Funeral Home (850) 438-6235. The Home Going Celebration will be at Burgess Road Baptist Church, Pensacola, on Saturday, June 15, at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The Arc Gateway of Pensacola, Fla.
