Obituary for Carl Denverd Spratlin Jr.
Carl Denverd Spratlin, Jr., 83, passed away on June 13, 2019 at his home in Robertsdale, AL. He was born to Carl D. Spratlin Sr and Lady Muriel Mallard in Haleyville, AL on November 16, 1935.
He was raised in Milan, TN. Carl was the oldest of five children. He was very close to his sisters Jackie Greenlee and Carolyn Doyle and brothers Jim (Phyllis) Spratlin and Donald (Kay) Spratlin. He enjoyed knowing his many nieces and nephews as well.
Carl was married to Vivian Harrell from 1957 until her passing in 2015. They had three children, Danny Spratlin, Tami (James) Griffith and Carl Denny Spratlin III. They enjoyed three grandchildren Jason (Melissa) Griffith, Peter Griffith and Jillian (Clif) Cone; as well as their two great granddaughters, Hayley Griffith and Lorelei Cone.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Carl followed with his second retirement from Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, TX. After retirement, Carl and Vivian moved to Robertsdale, AL.
Monday, June 17, 2019 will be visitation 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home. Interment will be on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 with a roll time set for 11:00 a.m. going to Barrancas National Cemetery.
