Obituary for Johnny Wayne Odom

Johnny Wayne Odom, 68, of Milton, FL passed away June 12, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Johnny was born August 15, 1951 at Orange Memorial Hospital in Orlando FL.

After school Johnny joined the 82nd airborne division of the United States Army where he received the Purple Heart in Vietnam. After retiring from the Army he was a long haul truck driver hauling cattle and delivering the mail. In 1980 he settled into his long time career as an air craft mechanic for the civil service.

He was married to his wife Gayle for 46 years and as he would always say she obviously married him for his good looks because when she met him, he didn’t have any money. Johnny loved to fish every chance he could make it onto the water and beamed with pride every time he could tell a story about his daughter and his granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Odom and Mary Alice Odom. His brothers Robert Odom, Jerry Odom, and Marcus Odom.

Johnny is survived by his wife Gayle Odom; his daughter Shawna Odom; his granddaughters Brooklyn Williams and Bryannah Williams; and numerous cousins who will all miss him dearly.

The service to honor Johnny’s life will be on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Trahan Family Funeral home in Milton, FL. Visitation from 3pm to 4pm with service at 4 pm.
