Debra Ann Sewell Threatt
August 5, 1956 - June 12, 2020

Debra Sewell Threatt of Pensacola, FL, passed away on June 12, 2020. She was born on August 5, 1956 to William and Betty Sewell, formerly of Glenwood, IL.

Debra was a loving mother, wife, and sister, who had a zest for life and enjoyed music, dancing, attending concerts, collecting dolls and spoiling her cats.

Debra graduated from University of West Florida with a double major, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Education and Communication Arts, along with a master’s degree in Special Education. She worked for over 25 years as an educator and special education’s teacher. Her favorite teacher in high school instilled in her a love of learning and inspired her to pursue a career in teaching.

She met her husband, James, at the University of West Florida. They were married for 35 years. She was very proud of her two sons, Brandon and Brice.

She was preceded in death by her son, Brandon; parents, William and Betty Sewell; her sister, Betty Jane Sewell; father-in-law, Johnnie Threatt; brother-in-law Dr. Fredrick Milton; and sister-in-law Peggy Threatt.
Debra will be dearly missed by her husband James and son Brice; sister Cindi (Mark) Davis-Garrett of Naples, FL; nieces Jennifer Detweiler of Seattle, WA and Nicole Detweiler of Denver, CO; mother-in-law, Barbara Threatt; sisters-in-law Melanie Threatt, Dr. G. Iris Threatt-Milton and Emma Threatt; brothers-in-law Michael Threatt and Wendell Threatt.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm with Funeral service following visitation on Friday, June 19th, 2020 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Pensacola. Interment will be held at 1:30 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery.
