Obituary for James Euria Gilmore Sr.

James Euria “Sonny” Gilmore Sr., a resident of Milton Florida for 39 years, died after a long fight with multiple health issues on June 24, 2020 at the age of 71 in his home surrounded by his family and friends. Thanks to Covenant Care Hospice for all that you do.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Gilliland) Gilmore; his brothers, Bo Gilmore and Charles Lambert; his sisters: Margarette Foster, Joyce Ann Small, Ethel Byrd, Debbie Gene Odom, and Dorothy Allbritten; children: James (Sharla Parker), Richard (Charlotte), and Robert (Brandy) Gilmore, and Sandra Kirkland; grandchildren: Derek, Joshua, Mallory, Kristen, Danielle, Brandon, Sunny Gilmore, Sierra Mills, and Christopher Mills.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Gilmore; his mother, Estelle Trammell Gilmore; and his sister, June Evelyn Gilmore.

Sonny was born in Mobile, Alabama on January 31, 1949 to James Earl and Estelle Trammell Gilmore. He proudly served two tours in the Army in Korea and Vietnam from 1966 to 1971. He pursued his mechanic career and successfully owned and operated A & G Budget tires and Milton Forklift repair.
Sonny was a devoted father, loved to fish, work on equipment, and enjoyed social gatherings with family and friends. Sonny was always either helping others with various problems or hosting gatherings where he was always the life of the party.

Visitation will be at Trahan Family Funeral home of Milton, 6539 Trammel drive in Milton, Florida, on Sunday, June 28th, 2020 from 05:00 pm till 08:00 pm. Services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2020 also at the funeral home. Burial services will follow at Pleasant Home Baptist Church located at 8500 Pleasant Home Church road in Holt, Florida. Pallbearers will be Derek Gilmore, Joshua Gilmore, Brandon Gilmore, John Bryant, Wes Southern, and Jeremy Bagrosky. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Dannelley, Charles Gilmore, Allen Hewitt, David Smith, Kendall Smith, and John Harris.
