Obituary for Lonnie ""Roy"" Anderson

Lonnie “Roy” Anderson, 82 of Holley, FL passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
Roy was born September 16, 1937 in Pensacola, FL to Lonnie “Victor” and Elizabeth Anderson. His father built and repaired boats at Runyans Shipyard and was also a commercial fisherman and shrimper.
Lonnie “Roy” served in the United States Navy for four years. He became a commercial fisherman and shrimp boat captain. Roy knew the water ways from the Mississippi Sound all the way East of Panama City Beach. Growing up he loved to play baseball. He gained his love of reading from his mama and he loved to read pastor Billy Graham in the newspaper every day. He loved his family and friends. He prayed for them often.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lonnie Victor and Elizabeth Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Bennie Tolbert (June).
Roy leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons; Victor (Tina) Anderson and Jody (Christy) Anderson, brother; Dale (Vicki) Anderson, sister; Merrybeth Andrews.
He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Meranda, Ethan, Kamber, Madelyn, Koby, Kallie and one great grandchild Tenleigh. He also loved four children that were like grandkids to him; Dylan, Kayla, Cameron and Billy. Roy also leaves behind numerous other relatives.
On one of the last visits with our dad he told us he was ready. He prayed daily toward the end for family and friends and was ready to see his sister, June and loved one’s he had lost along the way.
The Anderson family would like to thank everybody for their thoughts and prayers. A special thanks to Meredith Boutwell and Bonnie Tolbert Hunter for the extra care they provided Roy.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is handling the arrangements.
Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:00. Service begins at 11:00 am at Holley Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Holley Point Cemetery.
