Obituary for Addie Lorene Whatley

Addie Lorene Travis Whatley, 87, of Milton, FL, left this world on September 2, 2020 at 11 p.m. She is now in Heaven, safe in the arms of God, free from all pain and sorrow, shouting and praising God with loved ones who have gone before.
Lorene was born in Jay, Florida to Bertha Lee “Bert” and L.R. “Dutch” Morris on July 12, 1933. She graduated from Jay High School. In 1964 she married Hoyt Scott Whatley. They were happily married for 55 years. She worked at Scott’s Grocery in Jay, Santa Rosa Bank in Milton, and she helped her husband Scott manage Big Ten Tires in Milton and Milton Tires until she retired.
Lorene is preceded in death by her parents; son, Bryan Whatley; grandson, Scott Lockett; in-laws, Lola and Roy Whatley, and beloved sister, Betty Reaves.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Scott Whatley; daughter, Wanda Travis Lockett (Gary); step-daughter, Debbie Whatley Orr (Charles); step-son, Tim Whatley (Teresa); beloved brother, Ray Morris (Nell); grandson, Jeffrey Lockett (Amanda); seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family of Lorene Whatley wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Smith, Vitas Health Care (Hospice), and The Terrace at Ivey Acres for their care of our mother.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Saturday, September 5, at Hickory Hammock Cemetery, 8351 Hickory Hammock Rd. Due to Covid, it will be immediate family only. Bobby Carnley of Ebenezer Assembly will be officiating. Arrangements are by Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton. Lorene loved the Lord and never missed a Sunday at Christian Life Church until she became ill.
