Obituary for Russell Scott Reeder Sr.
Russell Scott Reeder of the Berrydale Community passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at the age of 77.
Russell Scott was born on December 29, 1942 to Bunky and Litora Reeder. He was a lifelong resident of Berrydale and graduated from Jay High School. He was an active member at Stump Springs Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and serving Him. Russell Scott spent much of his life farming and trucking. He enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh. Poppa, as he was affectionately known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, had fun spending time with them and acting their age.
Russell was married to his loving wife Midge for 52 years. They had four children, Greg (his children Jessica, April, and AJ), Darleen, Joe, and Rusty. Their family grew to include son-in-law David Hyatt, and daughters-in-law Danette and Kim; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Nina Mae Hall.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, and one sister.
Pallbearers are AJ Reeder, Daniel Martin, Blake Jay, Bryce Bowers, Thomas Bowers, and Trey Burgess.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 13th, from 5 pm until 7 pm. The funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 am. All services will be at Trahan Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Berrydale.
