Obituary for Erma Jean Norphard

On Friday, November 6, 2020, Erma Jean Norphard was called home by our Lord to rest in eternal peace. She was born Erma Jean Davis on September 19, 1934 to Mary Lee and Bert Davis.
In her youth, she graduated from JB Turner High School and went on to marry Jesse Lee Norphard. In the coming years they bore one child, Wanda, who passed away in infancy.
Erma was affectionately known throughout our community as Teda. She was also a long-time member of Isaiah Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.
She was preceded in death by: her father and mother, Bert and Mary Lee Davis; her brothers, William Davis and Garland Neal; and her sisters, Catherine Davis-Baker and Emma Pearl Davis-Gilmore.
She leaves to mourn: brother-in-law, James Gilmore; special friend, Lurleene Hill; special nephews, Antoine and Cory Goldsmith; goddaughter, Wanda Hill; and a host of other friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
