Vera Ann Richburg, of Pensacola, FL, went home to the Lord on November 7, 2020 after 96 years of wonderful life. Vera was born in 1924 in Castleberry, AL to James ‘Herbert’ and Nicie ‘Annie’ Ryals. She often spoke of her childhood spent working on her family’s farm. From picking a bushel of cotton to cooking and cleaning, her days revolved around caring for her household, which included her parents, 6 other siblings, and 4 cousins. Her grade school education was limited by her family duties, but she always had plenty of wisdom to offer.
On September 20, 1941, she married John Alexander Richburg and they enjoyed 56+ years of marriage, until his passing in 1998. Through hard work and their unwavering faith in God, Vera and John raised 3 children, Annetta, John David, and Vera Faye.
She was well known for her hospitality, delicious cooking, beautiful gardening, exquisite crafts, nostalgic stories, strong faith, and love for her family.
She is preceded in passing by her parents, siblings, husband, and son.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren (+1 on the way), and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
