Obituary for Richard Julian Starns
MSgt (Ret) Richard J. Starns (Rick), 84, of Milton, Florida went home to be with his Lord, Saturday, November 14, 2020 surrounded by family.
Rick was born in Elgin, Illinois to the late Troy Starns and Vetra Covey Starns. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Claudia Faye Jones Starns. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired Postal Worker. Rick enjoyed auto racing, building cars, playing music, and fishing.
In addition to his wife, surviving are his sons, Jon Starns of Montgomery, Alabama and Josh Starns of Ward, Arkansas and daughters, Ricki Turak & husband Phil of Tucson, Arizona and Shannon Reynolds & husband Hank of Navarre, Florida. Rick was proud of his seven surviving grandchildren; Mei Lian Starns, Rachel Turak, Lindsay Turak, Li-Lian Starns, Tucker Reynolds, Sailor Reynolds, Cutter Reynolds and a little angel in heaven, Troy Ashby Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on December 7, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church, 6423 Hamilton Bridge Road, Milton, Florida. A private service for the immediate family will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Post 182, Columbia, North Carolina or Faith Baptist Church, Milton, Florida.
