1963 - 2020
Robert Shannon Rawls, 57, of Pensacola, FL. left this earth and went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on November 4, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carrie Ann Beattie Rawls; daughter, Emily Ilene Rawls; and son, Robert Wade Rawls all of Fort Walton Beach, FL. Other survivors include his Uncle John and Aunt Rawls of Del Mar, CA; five siblings, Mary Anne Rawls, Jon Alfred Crawford, Penny Frantz (Bruce), Julie Rawls-Brunner, and Robin S. Rawls; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Capt. Robert E. Rawls; his mother, Joan Harrison Rawls; and his beloved uncle, Vernon C. Rawls, Jr.
Robert was born in Frankfurt, Germany on May 4, 1963. He graduated from Enterprise High School, class of 1981 and moved to southern California shortly thereafter. As a young man he was drawn to the machinist trade, staring with manual, the CNC machines and advancing to micro-machining. Over 35 years, he took pride in his work helping produce quality, often high-tolerance complex parts used in medical, aerospace, military, petroleum drilling, and marine application in San Diego, Dallas/Fort Worth, and northwest Florida.
Robert will be greatly missed by those that loved him. He was a free spirit who enjoyed the beach, fishing, boating, friends, and family. He was always a vert helpful person, spending his spare time doing for others. In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward and help another in need.
Robert will be cremated with a private service at a later time. Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
